What if I told you that just 10 minutes a day? Yes, only 10 could help you avoid burnout, sharpen your focus and reignite that spark you had when you first started your business. I know it sounds like another productivity hack, but this one's different.'cause this one's not about squeezing more into your day. It's about sustaining your energy so you can keep going for the long term. So my name's Simon Hague. I'm your host today, and I want to talk to you about something that's affecting nearly every leader and entrepreneur I speak to That is burnout, because let's face it, business has never probably been more uncertain than it is right now. Market shifts overnight. Technology moves faster than we can keep up with, and the pressure to adapt continuously and per perfectly can feel relentless. That creates stress, the kind that doesn't just fade with a cup of coffee or a quiet weekend or a walk in the woods. So what do we do? We slow down just for 10 minutes and in those 10 minutes we create something powerful, something with clarity, with direction, and most importantly, something that helps you improve your resilience. So let me walk you through the next 10 minutes of debut routine that I use and recommend to every business leader that I work with to prevent burnout and help to lead with purpose. Again, something which is so close to my heart. Recent research from Harvard Business Review showed that a staggering 96% of leaders feel some level of burnout. Not exhaustion from hard work, but real burnout. So I'm talking about emotional fatigue, decision making struggles, and the loss of excitement for what they do. And that's before we even add in the global uncertainty, economic flux or the pressure to pivot every other week. So let's be honest, many of us are running full speed on empty, and we're calling it normal. But here's a catch. Your most important business assets are not your CRM. It's not what you've got in the bank. It is not your intellectual property or even your profit margins. It's you. It's your energy, your clarity, your sustainability and burnout robs you of all these three things. And once it shows up, it's slow to leave. That's why these little pauses, these 10 minute check-ins with yourself and not luxuries, they're actually critical. And so think of it as a preventative medicine for your business mind. So let's take a start. Let's look at what this 10 minutes is about. So in the first minute, I'm inviting you to breathe, and what we're doing through our breath work is to ground ourselves. And that's all you need to do to bring your nervous system down a notch. Breathe in for four counts, hold for four, and exhale slowly for six. Now, repeat this a few times. Accuse your body that you are safe, that you are steady, and that you're in control again. So minutes two to three is about gratitude. Listening, listening. Write down three things from the past 24 hours that you are grateful for. Could be personal or professional, but make them specific. Had a great chat with a client. Finally cleared out that inbox. Took a quiet walk at lunch. Recognition fuels positivity and tracked positivity fuels momentum. Minute four and five is about micro journaling. Ask yourself this question, what feels heavy today and what small controllable action can I take? Now, today to make myself and help myself feel lighter. You're not solving, you're not solving everything, right? You're just acknowledging and regaining that sense of urgency. So minute six and to minute seven, you are reconnecting with your vision. Reread your why. Who are you? What are you about? Maybe it's a note that you keep in your phone, a journal entry or just a mission statement above your desk. Remind yourself what this is all about, to ground the chaos into something meaningful. A minute, eight to 10. Finally, this is about setting your three priorities for the day, but here's a twist. Don't just think about what's urgent. Think about what feels manageable. Prioritize based on your available energy, not just time. We often over schedule and under recover. This part helps us lead with intention instead of reaction. And so there you have it. That's 10 minutes, but it's a reset for your entire operating system. This practice isn't about self-care fluff, it's it strategic move. Every time you run this short routine, you're reducing your decision fatigue. You're giving yourself structure without rigidity and clarity, without overwhelm. Burnout doesn't usually hit us in a flash. It's a slow fade. This routine is your counterbalance. A sustainable business needs a sustainable leader, and that, that, that means creating space for recharge on a regular basis. So let's come to full circle. We understand that burnout prevention doesn't need to be a big or loud or time consuming exercise. You don't need to escape to a spa or meditate for hours. What you need to do is two things, consistency. And be honest about how you're doing. So this small structured 10 minute daily check-in is about honoring both, and I'd love you to try it with me. So head over to my lunch table.com/burnout fix to download a routine which we've just been talking about that you can use as a script. If you feel brave, then please do share your experience with hashtag Burnout Fix on Instagram or LinkedIn. So let's think about now how we can build our business smarter, be more human about what we're doing, and be more connected to what is happening around us. And that starts with just 10 minutes a day. Thank you for listening. Take care of yourself and I'll see you next time.
